Scoring!

Rakdos here! Figured I should probably explain how Alarisia and I intend to score the anime we review. I mean, whats the point of reading a review if you don’t actually know what the reviewer is actually saying? Well, lets start with the basics. All of our scores are on a scale of 1 – 10, with 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest. When reading a score heres what you should keep in mind:

A score of 1 – 2 is Terrible.
A score of 3 – 4 is a Poor.
A score of 5 – 6 is an Average.
A score of 7 – 8 is a Great.
A score of 9 – 10 is an Exceptional.

Now onto the second part of scoring! We intend to grade the anime we review on several categories. I’m going to take the time to explain what each category is and what we are looking at when we grade an anime in that category.

Story: This one is sorta a no-brainer. We intend to score anime based on how interesting and unique its story is. In addition, we will evalute how well the story progresses throughout the show. This score should represent how good of a story the anime is and whether or not it proceeds at an appropriate pace.

Characters: The characters are a key part to every anime. We intend to judge an anime on how well-crafted its characters are. This includes their backgrounds, personalities, relationships, issues, and (if applicable) strength. This score should reflect how engaging an anime’s characters are and whether or not they fit the story appropriately.

Art: An anime’s art should reflect the overall feel of an anime. The art score should demonstrate whether the characters look, the animation, and the backgrounds accurately represented the feeling that the anime is trying to express to its veiwers.

Sound: The sound score is meant to display how accomplished the voices and music were in the anime. It should represent whether or not we enjoyed the various openings, endings, OST’s, and voice actors featured in the show.

Enjoyment: This score is meant to show how much we were entertained by the anime. This is a purely opinionated scoring that is our own personal index for how much we loved/hated the show.

Overall: Taking into account all the various sides to an anime, the overall score is how we rate the anime in general. It should reflect how we veiwed the anime after taking into account its plot, its characters, its art, its sound, and our own personal enjoyment.

Well thats all for now! There should be some more review incoming within the next few days including our very first tag-team review! Look forward to it and hope this helps those who had questions regarding our scoring! If you have any more questions feel free to send an email to rakalar@gmail.com and either me or Alarisia will answer it as soon as we can.
